For someone who loves words I'm sure having a hard time expressing how much I adore the book I've read for the month of January.
This is a MUST (pun very much intended) read for anyone who feels lost, but knows there is something better out there for them. You just don't quite know what it is yet.
The Crossroads of Should and Must by Elle Luna.
This book came into my life pretty much right after I discovered my 'Must'.
The idea is that there are two paths in life. The path of Should and the path of Must. The path of Should is usually a smooth journey with little to no risks or obstacles, but it leaves you with a lingering feeling that something isn't quite right in your life. Something is missing. Something is lacking. That something is your Must.
I think this book serves you best if you have not yet found your Must. The way in which it guides you there is exactly how I found mine. However, even if you already know, it's still an incredibly valuable read. It cheers you on and inspires you, but it also outright reflects your worries back to you. It doesn't shy away from the less fun, practical things, such as the money, time and space you'll need in order to pursue this grand new Must of yours. The author does that in a way that doesn't feel scary, overwhelming or off-putting. I very much appreciated how she pretty much told it to me straight. A book like this needs that kind of reality check, otherwise we're just dreaming without ever taking action.
Aside from all that, the book is also visually stunning. Colourful pages filled with beautiful illustrations and quotes help make this book a joy to read. It's humorous, uplifting, practical and relatable. There is nothing about this book that I do not like.
