"I have so many things to do."
"Do you?"
A pause, a thought and a nod of certainty.
"Well, it's a good thing I'm on your side then."
"Are you?"
"Of course I am."
"Not always." A slight accusatory tone.
"Well I'm hardly to blame for that, now am I?"
"Maybe not, but it would certainly be nice if you could stop moving at such a fast pace today. Not all of us can keep up."
"My pace is a steady one. I never move any faster, or slower, for that matter, than I do right now. You know that."
"Yes, yes, you're saying my own pace is the one I should be bothered about." A sigh.
"Indeed."
"Listen, I know what you say is true, but things could be made a whole lot easier for me if, occasionally, you just stuck around a little longer. On some days I can't even seem to find you anywhere at all and when I lie in bed at night all I can think about is where you went. Why can't you just.. "
"Just, what?"
"Why can't you just stand still for a while?" A wistful, almost pleading expression.
"You know that's not in my nature," said Time.
