Five More Minutes

I love you too much.

I know I should leave you.

But I love you too much.

You keep me warm when I need it.

I feel peaceful and calm.

Still I have to leave you.

I can't stay with you forever.

I have to put both feet

On the ground and walk away.

Out into the cold.

The world awaits.

Let it wait.

Let me stay with you a little longer.

Only five more minutes?

How about an hour?

You can't stay with me forever.

You have to leave me.

I promise I won't go anywhere.

I'll be here when you get back.

Ready to comfort you.

Ready to take you away.

To a distant land.

That only we can visit.

Together.

But morning always comes.

And then we have to separate again.

It's the hardest part of my day.

Are you sure I can't stay with you?

Wrapped up in your warmth.

Only five more minutes.

And then, I promise.

I'll get out of bed.
